Here is a facebook embedding of a movie I made to help get through my Dad's death in 2005.

As many of you know my dad was diagnosed with PD in 1998 in the first few months I lived in NJ. He died in 2005. It was a rough morning because I was scheduled to get on the air plane at 5pm that afternoon but I got a call from my mother at 6am that my father had died. Not knowing how to act or what to feel I went through my regularly scheduled set of events which was to give a presentation at Felician College's open house. To this day I don't know what I said. I have been assured it was fine. At the time the Dean Dr. O'Sullivan and Father O'Neil were the only two that knew what had happened. I knew I could do it as long as no one said anything because I knew I would lose it. I made it through the open house, saw my son, got on the plane... My dad had been weak and in pain at the end and in some ways it was a blessing that he did go, but I miss him.

The last family photo.

Did you know that every nine minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease? To help make a difference, Teddy and I are raising money for the Parkinson's Unity Walk, a national grassroots organization that aims to raise awareness and funds for research with the hopes of one day finding a cure for Parkinson's disease. The walk will be held in New York's Central Park on April 24, 2010.

In 2009, over 10,000 people participated in Parkinson's Unity Walk and over $1,500,000 was raised. Our team, Papa's Rockin' NJ Walkers, raised over $28,000 and Teddy and raised over $1000. We are hoping to we can do it again. These are challenging times and giving is harder than before, but every dollar helps so please do what you can. Every contribution, no matter how large or small, makes a difference and brings us one step closer to the hope of finding a cure. 100% of the money raised benefits seven major U. S. Parkinson's foundations including:

  • American Parkinson Disease Association
  • National Parkinson Foundation
  • Parkinson's Action Network
  • Parkinson's Disease Foundation
  • The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
  • The Parkinson Alliance
  • The Parkinso's Institute and Clinical Center
Parkinson's disease is the second most common chronic neurological disorder, affecting more than one million Americans. Please support Teddy and I in this endeavor by making a contribution to;
