Welcome to my faculty webpage. I have been a member of the Felician College philosophy department since 2006. I teach courses in Applied Ethics, Critical Reasoning, Philosophy of Art, Philosophy of Education, Ethical Theory, Introduction to Philosophy, and Ancient and Medieval Philosophy. Links to several of my latest syllabi are included below.

My research interests center on mind, language, and communication in ancient philosophy (updated CV link), particularly in the fields of Later Greek philosophy, Patristic philosophy, and Hellenistic philosophy. My first book will appear in 2008 from Ashgate, titled Word and Meaning in Ancient Alexandria. This book covers theories of language from Philo to Plotinus. I am presently pursuing further research work in the relations of language to experience, communication issues in the 'transitional' Platonic dialogues, Neoplatonic theories of language, and Aristotle on music education.

Our philosophy department features a Felician Ethics Institute, holding annual ethics conferences and other related events. Inquiries about the 2nd Annual Felician Ethics Conference (May 3rd, 2008) may be directed to either of the email addresses listed on this webpage.

I am presently serving as Pre-Law advisor at Felician College. Please contact me if you are interested in our series of talks this Spring 2008 on Ethics and Legal Careers.

I am married with two daughters, ages 13 and 15. I have side interests in classical music (piano), cooking, and gardening. Thanks for visiting my faculty webpage!
