Professor Abboushi holds a Ph.D. from the University of Dayton. He joined the Computer Science Department at Felician College in the Fall semester of 1998. In year 2001 Dr. Abboushi headed the newly established eLearning Program, as a Coordinator, Dr. Abboushi oversees all the operations of the Program, from faculty training to students’ enrolment.

 

Dr. Abboushi teaches a variety of courses with a focus on technology integration in different discipline areas.

Professor Alberto LaCava holds a Ph.D. from the University of London (Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine). He joined the Computer Science Department at Felician College after a distinguished career in academia ( tenured professor of Chemical Engineering at the City University of New York) and in industrial research ( as Manager, Director and Corporate Fellow for the BOC Group Inc., in Murray Hill, NJ) 

His scholarly production includes more than 60 research publications in professional journals, and some 21 patents of invention.

Alberto received in 2003 an award sponsored by the NSA (National Security Agency) to study for the “Information Assurance Education Graduate Certificate” at the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security at Purdue University in Indiana. He successfully completed the studies during the Summer of 2003. Alberto has received his Information Assurance Education Graduate Certificate and a Graduate Certificate in Computer Science from Purdue University. He also recently received a Cisco Professor Professional Security Development Certificate, from Cisco Systems.

His teaching interests in Computer Science involve the development of curricula to match recent guidelines of the ACM (American Association of Computer Machinery) in Computer Information Systems, to promote studies in the area of Information Assurance and Security and to increase the awareness of the issues of IAS in the community at large.

Alberto’s research interests in Computer Science in the past have been Numerical Analysis and Solution Methods, Computer Dynamic Simulation and Artificial Intelligence. His current directions of research are in the area of Information Assurance and Computer Security.

Professor Manigault came to Felician College with an M.B.A. from the prestigious Business School of New York University, with a double major in Computer Applications and Information Systems and in Accounting and Financial Control. Following her studies she went to work as Computer System Analyst and Programmer first for the Shell Oil Company and later for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She was part of teams and team director in very important projects of Computer Systems development in these organizations.

In 1986 she made a change from Industry to Academia, entering the Full Time Faculty at Felician College and serving as an Adjunct for Farleigh Dickinson University, teaching in both institutions courses in Mathematics and Computer Science Professor Manigault is well regarded by students and faculty alike, as an excellent teacher, conveying clear concepts and making even difficult ideas easy to understand.

Professor Manigault is also very active with professional societies, being a member of the Association for Computer Machinery and the Mathematical Association of America. She has served in different Boards of Directors in different Mathematical associations and coalitions, and continues to be very active in this area.
